Covestro is organized into three large business units: Polyurethanes, Polycarbonates, and Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties. These are augmented by the Industrial Operations unit.
The Polyurethanes business unit develops and produces the components for rigid and flexible foams for a broad spectrum of applications that range from mattresses and shoe soles to insulating materials for refrigeration appliances and buildings.
The Polycarbonates business unit produces transparent, hard and freely formable high-performance plastics that can be used in a variety of ways, including in the automotive and construction industries.
The Coatings, Adhesives, Specialties business unit produces specialty raw materials that help protect such items as automobiles, aircraft and wind turbines against the effects of weather.
